About Us

Mountain View Therapies was started by Mary Teresa Holden as a place where people could come for help with bowel problems using Colonic Hydrotherapy - a therapy in which she passionately believes.

Mary started her nursing career in 1971 in Northern Ireland. Over the next 30 years she gained experience in many areas, but preferred surgery and gynaecology. She worked at a senior level and was a practitioner in interventional radiology where she was instrumental in developing patient information leaflets. She also worked with consultants helping to set up breast screening programmes and attended a number of related breast care courses in the UK.

Birmingham University offered Mary's next challenge implementing programmes and undertaking medical research into undiagnosed diabetes & cardiac rehabilitation. She gained qualifications in diabetic nursing from Aston University, Central England, a Diploma in teaching and certificates on counselling skills.

Having experienced health problems in the past herself, she investigated complimentary care and gaining considerable health benefits, she extended her training to become a Colonic Hydrotherapist and now offers her vast experience at Mountain View Therapies.

Mary is a member of the Association and Register of Colonic Hydrotherapists and insured with Holistic Insurance.
