Frequently Asked Questions

Everybody has questions regarding Colonic Hydrotherapy and the most commonly asked ones are shown below. If you have any questions that are not answered here, please do get in touch so we can help you further.

Where is the faecal debris that the treatment removes?
It can be in pockets in the colon wall, or glued to the wall with hardened mucous

How much debris is there likely to be?
Obviously this varies but typically 3 to 5 lbs (1.5 to 2.5 Kg) can be lodged in the colon. Sometimes as much as 25 lbs (12 Kg) can be present

Why doesn't the debris move through in the normal course of events - especially if you have diarrhoea?
Old matter that is stuck to the colon wall or lodged in pockets in the wall tends to be be passed over without being dissolved.

Can I have this rubbish in my colon and not be ill or suffer from it?
Yes, although you may be experiencing mild symptoms such as fatigue or tiredness, skin problems etc.

Will I experience an immediate improvement in health?
Probably not, although some people do. This is because the "stirring up" of old debris can release toxins into the body. This is not predictable but more noticeable when the person being treated is suffering from a severely blocked colon. As the cleansing is repeated, the toxins will be flushed away and these effects will cease.

Are there things I should or shouldn't do when having colonic therapy?
It is a good idea to use diet, vitamin and mineral supplements, herbs and homeopathy, exercise and deep breathing where possible.

For how long has Colonic Hydrotherapy been practised?
The first known use of the therapy was by the Egyptians around 1500 BC. It is also mentioned in the Bible and the Yogis in India used there own method of cleansing the bowel.
